Shelby SuperCars, also known as SSC, had shown the pre-production Tuatara concept at Pebble Beach back in 2011. It is 2018 and it seems like SSC is ready with the final production prototype and will showcase it at the Pebble Beach on August 24.
The MY2019 car, its makers claim, will easily surpass the current top-speed record for a road-legal car. Koenigsegg Agera RS did pull off a 447kmph run earlier this year which means the SSC might turn out to be the first road-legal car to breach the 300mph barrier.
Designed by Jason Castriota, the current Tuatara might have seen a few changes from its original design back in 2011 to improve the aerodynamics, lower the drag coefficient and generate more downforce.
According to SSC, years of methodical engineering applied to the Tuatara will be revealed in its unparalleled performance, driver experience and striking presence of the car. Stay tuned.
