Bollywood superstar and the face of Hyundai India for well over a decade, Shah Rukh Khan will now lend his persona and charm to another generation of the South Korean automaker’s cars. He will now be the face of the Hyundai Xcent.
King Khan or SRK as he is more fondly known has begun his association with the compact sedan through a TV commercial which is built around the theme of, “multiplying the life’s joys with the generous Xtras like - Xtra space, style and comfort”. The film unfolds to show how SRK is an ‘Xtra Hunter’ and has a quest for more.
Commenting on the TVC and on becoming the face of the Xcent, SRK said, “It’s a delight to have been associated with Hyundai for 16 years and it never seemed like work to me. It was always a pleasure to be associated with one of the most trusted and loved car brands in India. For me the brand Hyundai is family as we have grown together for the last 16 years. Hyundai has always been close to my heart, as it gave people the power to own a modern premium, stylish and valuable car.”
To recap on the Hyundai Xcent’s advent, it was launched for the Indian market in March of this year (Rs 4.66 lakh) after being unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo in February. It is offered with petrol and diesel engines as well as two gear box options. It competes in the B-segment compact sedan category where it rivals the Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and the Tata Zest.
