The Audi A8 will arrive in a new generation in July and ahead of its debut, the German automaker has released a teaser video demonstrating the sedan’s self-parking abilities. This new flagship from Ingolstadt will be offered with level 3 autonomous driving ability which translates to steering, acceleration, slowing down and of course the ability to self-parking. This is Audi’s flagship car and we expect that it will be filled to the brim with various driving aids and systems to help Audi improve and further develop its self-driving systems.
This new A8 (A8L for markets like China and India) is based on the Prologue concept that was showcased in 2015 and closer to home at Delhi 2016 as one of the main highlights of the automaker’s massive display for the motor show. This new car will be based on parent company VW’s MQB platform and share its hidden bits with a variety of sedans and SUVs under the Volkswagen umbrella.
As for the video, it shows a father and son duo returning from an outing. The child has dozed off in the back seat and once home, the dad picks him up and is about to take him inside when he realises that the car needs to head back into the garage. Voila! With the push of a button on the key fob the A8 maneuvers itself into the garage and once again all is well as the duo head back into the house.
