-Unveiled at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show
-Second generation for the compact SUV
-Likely to come to India in 2020
The second generation Hyundai ix25 has been unveiled at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show and this is a preview for the second generation Creta SUV that will come to India in 2020.
Where the first generation Creta was square and favoured the old school SUV design, this one moves towards the crossover shape which has become common amongst the current crop Hyundai SUVs. The honeycomb grille gets chrome surrounds while the headlamps have moved a step down to make way for a pair of sleek LED running lamps.
In profile, the roofline has been lowered and slopes into the rear that has now become wider. Here too the lamps have been moved a step down and in their place has come a massive LED light bar. There are a large number of curved elements on the hatch door and these add to the styling quotient of the car.
There’s no official word on the interiors or the power train options for the Chinese market, but we expect the latter to be carried over from the outgoing model. As for the former, it appears that this car has grown in length and will also get a new host of features and driver aids.
When it arrives in India as the second generation Creta in 2020, it will takes on the likes of the Nissan Kicks, Kia SP2i, Maruti S-Cross and the Honda BR-V.
