Even as potential customers eagerly await the launch of the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire, images of the Dzire Tour variant surfaced online in the current generation avatar. Prior to this, the Tour variant, meant for commercial aggregators was offered only in the first-generation form and was sold with commercial registration plates. In order to maintain commercial operator’s interest, the Dzire Tour variant will soon be offered in the current generation form.
It is believed that the upcoming Dzire Tour in the current generation form will be offered in the base trim level. This commercial vehicle will continue to be powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that generates 74bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 190Nm of peak torque at 2,000rpm. The modest diesel engine will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Though there are no official plans to introduce a petrol version anytime soon, if introduced, it might be the 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine that generates 86bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 114Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The petrol option with a CNG alternative will help the automaker further strengthen its competition against the likes of Hyundai Xcent in the commercial space.
Along with the shorter compact design from the second-generation, the Tour will also get body-coloured bumpers as well as door handles. The one seen in pictures, also gets a black and beige theme for the interior, which indeed looks refreshing as compared to the earlier model. It is likely that Maruti Suzuki might introduce the new model post the arrival of the much awaited new-gen Dzire in the country. More details on the pricing aspect will be known in the coming days.
