-Fifth generation for the SUV
-Showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo
-Will be offered with the 1.6-litre diesel
-Will be a rival for the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour
Honda will launch the fifth generation CR-V diesel this festive season and that too in seven-seat configuration. The car was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi and was announced as one of the four major launches that Honda would undertake this financial year.
The 2018 CR-V features a new design, cabin and is bigger in every respect as compared to the previous generation model. The highlight for the Indian market is that this generation of the CR-V will be a seven-seat model and will for the first time be offered with diesel power.
The diesel engine is the 1.6-litre four-cylinder unit producing 120bhp/300Nm and will be offered with a nine-speed automatic. We had looked at the CR-V in detail when it was unveiled at the Auto Expo and you can read about that here. The CR-V in this new guise will compete with the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
