Dakshin Dare, the 2000km cross country rally, successfully concluded in Hyderabad on Saturday, August 8. Sandeep Sharma and navigator Karan Arya from the factory team of Maruti Suzuki retained the trophy after maintaining their lead throughout the rally. Samrat Yadav and his navigator Gaurav finished second followed by veteran Suresh Rana and Parminder Thakur.
The endurance category that features the Time-Speed-Distance rally format was won by Jagdeep Gill and Chandan Sen with the least amount of penalty. Subir Roy and Nirav Mehta finished second while Asgar Ali and his navigator M Musthafa secured third.
In the motorcycle category, Arvind KP finished first while setting a new record time of 3:54:51 while Natraj and Abdul Wahid, finishing second and third, covered the same distance in 4:00:10 and 4:14:15 respectively.
Over 100 teams with 170 participants raced each other through picturesque locations and off-road trails around Bangalore, Hampi, Bellary and Shimoga. The event also saw female participants fighting head to head in all categories throughout the rally.
