Rolls-Royce recently pulled the wraps off its new Black Badge trim for the Cullinan. Calling it the 'King of the Night', the carmaker has not only upped the SUV's sportiness, but also the power, torque and much more. Let's take a look at this Cullinan's Black Badge edition that gets a re-engineered chassis, new wheels and many more changes to the luxury SUV. Go drool at the pictures!
This exclusive edition comes with loads of rare elements starting with the exterior paint. These are six finished and painted layers of Technical Carbon.
These layers are left to cure for 72 hours before they actually start reflecting everything clearly for completing the carmaker's mirror finish.
This outer paint and lacquer on the exterior has been hand polished 10 times and the process takes 21 days to complete.
According to the carmaker, this is the most complete surface finish process ever applied to one paint colour by any manufacturer.
Riding high on the 22-inch wheels, the Black Badge Cullinan boasts of exclusivity as these wheels are specially designed for this trim, while its brake callipers are painted in glossy red.
Generally, you must have seen a lot of chrome on Rolls-Royce cars. However, in this edition all these surfaces including the trim and even the exhaust pipes have been blacked out.
Then, contrasting all these black elements is the Forge-yellow trimmed leather in the cabin of the car. The interior also boasts of a woven carbon-fibre that produces a three-dimensional effect.
Like in most Rolls-Royce cars, the night sky motif is also carried over here with eight white shooting stars on the inside of the roof over the front seats.
Notice closely and you will see an infinity symbol in the interior, which represents 'infinite engine power' hinting at the carmaker's 'pursuit of power'.
Now producing over 600bhp of power and a mammoth of 900Nm of torque, the Cullinan derives this power from a 6.75-litre V12 engine which delivers an extra 29bhp and 50Nm over the standard Cullinan.
This high-riding Cullinan also gets a re-engineered all-wheel steering and all-wheel drive systems, thereby not only upping the level of driver engagement, but also making everyone aware of its presence by amplifying the engine's sound through the new exhaust system.
