British luxury car marquee Rolls-Royce (now owned by the BMW group) unveiled their latest luxury car, the Wraith (pronounced ‘ray-th’) earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Within months of its global debut the premium two-door coupe is set for India launch on the August 19. India is one of the early markets for the Wraith as Rollers have always been well received here.
The second generation Wraith is a two-door four-seat coupe and is the fastest car built by Rolls-Royce till date. Powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V-12 petrol engine that pumps 624bhp and 800Nm, this two tonne luxury liner gets to 100kph from standstill in 4.6 seconds! Needless to say that this too gets the standard ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox that powers the rear wheels.
The Wraith is offered starting at about 2,35,000 GBP (Rs 2.21 crore) in the UK which means with the current exchange rate and custom duties, the price will be hovering around the Rs 4.5 crore mark.
