‘The chariot of the modern royalty’ is pretty much the single line that you can use to describe Rolls-Royce for the 21st century and this is why the speciality British automaker plans to celebrate with a special edition in Dubai. Dubbed the Maharaja Phantom Drop Head Coupe, it has been created for customers in Dubai and will only be on sale in the global Arab City-state.
The Maharaja Phantom Drop Head Coupe limited edition model gets a Carrera White exterior paint and emerald green coach line embedded with Peacock emblems to celebrate our national bird. Also included in the offering is an emerald green roof.
The cabin, which is elegant as always, gets the full luxury package with the addition of, you guessed it right, emerald green accents, embroidery in the headrests and marquetry inlay in the dashboard. Under the hood is a 6.8-litre V12 engine that produces 460bhp and 720Nm of torque with power going to the rear-wheels via a six-speed AT.
The car has been custom developed for Dubai- based customers to celebrate the iconic British Marquees ’ long standing relationship with the various Maharajas and princely states that existed before India became an independent nation in 1947. The company has said that over 840 Rolls-Royce had been purchased in India over a period of 50 years. Many of these cars still exist in India today and are in the hands of the descendants of the Royal families or with private collectors.
