Rolls Royce has announced that it will unveil the Ghost Alpine Trial Centenary Edition at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. The car has been created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their entry in the 1913 Alpine Trial. It was 3000km long and was won by entrant James Radley in a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.
The Ghost Alpine trial Centenary Edition has been painted in the same blue and black two tone combination that Radley had on his car. While the body is entirely in blue, the wheels and the grille have been painted in black.
Inside apart from the usual luxuries found in the ghost, the clock has been designed to display the stages of the rally and their timings. The front panels have also been decorated with graphics displaying the topography and distance of the route. Rolls Royce have also installed a rear picnic table as a part of the package.
It is likely that the Shanghai show was chosen due to increasing importance of the Chinese auto market and has shown increasing demand for special vehicles like this car. The Ghost Alpine Trial Centenary Edition will be unveiled during the show; however, Rolls Royce has mentioned any kind of price or how many units they will produce.
