Luxury British Marquee Rolls Royce is expected to launch its fastest car and sportiest car till date at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show.
The car currently is currently being called the Ghost but in keeping with their traditions it is likely to get a swanky name derived or taken from the company’s rich heritage. It will get the same 6.6 litre engine used in the current Ghost, but power is likely to go up from 555bhp to 601bhp along with a significant increase in torque and acceleration. The uprated engine will be mated to a ZF 8 speed automatic transmission and will transmit power to the rear wheels.
There will be upgrades for the brakes, suspension and the car will be lowered by 10 mm to improve the centre of gravity but these changes are not expected to affect the new car’s ride in any manner.
Also according to certain reports, as a part of the sports ‘upgrade’ the Ghost has shed around 200 kilos, a significant amount for a Rolls Royce. The car is also expected to be shorter than the Ghost by around 200 mm. In terms of pricing, the new car will cost somewhere between 205,000 and 230,000 GBP with deliveries expected to begin in mid-2013.
