Remember Rezvani? That´s the automotive designer and manufacturer of high-performance supercars based in Irvine, California. Founded in 2013, Rezvani introduced the Beast Alpha supercar with crazy sliding doors. Rezvani Motors has now released the first teaser images of its upcoming SUV.
The unnamed SUV is “Military inspired. Built for civilians” according to Rezvani. The hardcore SUV is designed by Samir Sadikhov, famous for his work with the Aston Martin DBC concept. Based on the few little details available about the forthcoming second product from the carmaker, it is expected to have a body-on-frame architecture. It will be a four-door, five-seater and have 4x4 on demand from two ‘high-output’ engine options with plenty of low-end torque. No other details about the powertrain are available. A high ground clearance with skid plates and an extreme off-road suspension is promised as well.
Interestingly, the Marauder-esque SUV will have optional bulletproofing in case the customer wants to avoid a crossfire perhaps. Other options would include a B6 bulletproof glass, a Kevlar gas tank, and Kevlar body panels, which would be good against assault rifles like weaponry. We expect some of the design elements from the Beast to filter through in the SUV as well.
Looking at the dark teaser images, the SUV still seems at early stages of design with a futuristic and boxy approach. There is a lot going on at the bonnet with bulges, vents and creases while the silhouette is rather unpractical in the teaser. The carmaker has promised that its sales would commence by the end of this year. Hopefully, by that time more details of the production specs would provide us with a clearer picture of the first SUV from the California-based carmaker.
Rezvani is already accepting refundable deposits to the tune of $1,000 for the new SUV. The young carmaker has realised the importance of having an SUV in its portfolio with growing demands of high-riding vehicles. It’s too early to predict which SUVs the Rezvani SUV will go up against, but it would be an interesting competition. Stay tuned to CarWale for all the developments on the upcoming vehicle.
