Rezvani announced their plans of developing an all-new military-inspired SUV a few months ago. Now, Rezvani Motors has revealed one more teaser and has officially confirmed that the SUV will be christened as the 'Tank'. Rezvani promises that the purpose-built, extreme utility SUV will be revealed in less than a week’s time.
Powering the Tank would be a 6.4-litre V8 motor. Power output is revealed to be around 500 horsepower. The hardcore SUV is designed by Samir Sadikhov, famous for his work with the Aston Martin DBC concept. The off-roader will boast of the old-school body-on-frame construction with purpose-built suspension set-up and massive off-road tyres. The four-door, five-seater 4x4 will be loaded with armed service’s features such as thermal/night vision camera and ballistic armour protection as optional fitments. Interestingly, the Marauder-esque SUV would also include a B6 bulletproof glass, a Kevlar gas tank, and Kevlar body panels, which would be good against assault rifles.
We expect some of the design elements from the Beast sportscar to filter through in the Tank as well. Judging by the earlier teasers, the Tank still seems to be in the early stages of design with a futuristic and boxy approach. There is a lot going on at the bonnet with bulges, vents and creases while the silhouette looks rather unpractical in the teaser.
Rezvani is already accepting refundable deposits to the tune of $1,000 from the prospective buyers. The California-based carmaker has promised that its deliveries would commence by the end of this year.
The young carmaker has realised the importance of having an SUV in its portfolio with growing demands of high-riding vehicles. It’s too early to predict which SUVs the Rezvani SUV will go up against, but it would be an interesting competition. Stay tuned to CarWale for all the developments on the upcoming vehicle.
