The Fiat 500 has always been a celebration of its iconic predecessor, adopting not only the look but also the character of the original model dating back to 1957. Fiat is now further enhancing the homage with the new 500 Vintage ’57 edition which is set to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The Vintage ’57 is a contemporary interpretation of the distinctive features that gave the original its iconic identity. Finished in pastel colours with a contrasting white roof, spoiler, antenna and mirror covers, the most distinctive element of the Vintage ‘57 is its 16-inch alloy wheels, a nod to those used on the original 500 but updated and refined to suit modern tastes. The wheel centres feature the historical FIAT logos, a subtle touch that’s repeated on the front and rear badges.
Despite the old-school design elements, the 500 Vintage ’57 is thoroughly modern with standard features including seven airbags, start and stop system, ESP with Hill Holder, multimedia system and lots more.
To be offered in the UK starting April this year, the new 500 Vintage ’57 will be offered with the petrol-powered 69bhp 1.2-litre engine as well as the 0.9-litre TwinAir 85bhp turbo petrol engine. The modern iteration of the Fiat 500 is in production since 2007. The hatchback is now sold in more than 100 markets globally, spearheading Fiat’s return to North America.
