The new Fiat Punto is expected to debut in international markets next year. Ahead of its official launch, freshly rendered images of the 2017 Fiat Punto emerges on the internet. In Brazil, the upcoming vehicle is expected to be offered as a replacement to the Punto and Palio.
The new model is expected to be rechristened and get a new name. Under the hood, the new Punto might be powered by a 1.4-litre petro engine which generates around 100bhp of power and a 1.8-litre E-Torq petrol engine. Both the engines will be offered in manual transmission, while the bigger engine might get an optional six-speed automatic transmission. The upcoming model is based on a stretched version of the Fiat 326 platform, yet will be under 4-metres.
In terms of design, the new Punto sports a tweaked grille, five triple-spoke alloy wheel design and a bigger and bolder bumper design than the current generation. To complete the sporty look, the rear features new sharper tail-lamps. As for the interiors, the new Punto will get a free-standing UConnect infotainment system in the dashboard, new steering wheel and city drive mode. Along with premium upholstery the car will also offer extra space than its predecessors.
