Renault brought a diverse range of products to display at its stall at the 2016 Auto Expo. The highlight of the day-1 was the unveiling of the 1.0-litre Kwid as well as the AMT powered model. They also displayed two concept cars based on the Kwid hatchback.
The 1.0-litre Kwid and its AMT sibling will hit the Indian market within the next few months and wil positioned slightly above the standard models. This is expected to have a pricing strategy similar to that of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Alto K10 AMT.
The Kwid also took centre stage once again thanks to the two concept cars- Kwid climber and Kwid racer which were unveiled on day-1. As the name suggests, the climber is an off-road oriented vehicle while the racer looks to be at home on the track. Among its budget range were the Lodgy and the facelift for the Duster crossover which will be unveiled tomorrow afternoon.
The eye candy for stall was the Eolab concept hatchback and the RS01 race car. The former is the basis for the next generation of Renault’s famous hatchbacks and can do 100km with just a single litre of petrol thanks to its hybrid setup.
The latter is a LMP1 race car which is powered by the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 from the mighty Nissan GT-R. In this form it produces 500bhp and 600Nm of torque.
