Renault India has updated the RxS trim of the Duster with a media navigation screen and dual front airbags without any increase in the cost. The second-to-top RxS variant alloys also get a gun metal finish.
The crossover SUV previously had the media navigation touchscreen only on the top-of-the-line RxZ trim. But the economy of scale, created by overwhelming sales of the Kwid hatch, equipped with the same media navigation system, has resulted in lower manufacturing cost per unit. In turn, this has helped Renault to outfit even the lower variant of the Duster with media navigation without really impacting its overall cost.
The RxS variant of the Duster is only available with a 1.5 dCI K9K HP diesel engine producing 84bhp and 200Nm. It is available only with a five-speed manual. Before this addition, there was only one driver side airbag as standard. The RxS comes with ABS and EBD as a standard fitment. The RxS misses out on automatic climate control though, which is only available on the top trim, RxZ.
The Renault Duster RXS 4X2 can be had with the same price of Rs 10.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
