Renault will launch its Corolla and Civic challenger, the Fluence on the 23rd of May. The Fluence is following the CKD route and the first set of Indian assembled cars were showcased today.
The car will be available in two versions. The cheaper variant will sport a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 105bhp and has a manual gearbox, while the top of the line version will get a 2-litre, 137bhp, petrol engine and will come with a CVT automatic gearbox. The car which comes in four colour options – black, golden beige, silver and while - will be available via 12 dealerships across the country to begin with. The number of dealers are set to grow significantly by the end of the year.
The Renault Fluence besides having good road presence will also be well appointed. It will come loaded with features and besides steering mounted controls for the stereo, Bluetooth connectivity, keyless entry and start, two zone climate control with air vents for the rear passengers, a chilled glovebox and 16in alloys, it will also get electronic stability program (ESP), electronic brake distribution (EBD) and anti-lock braking system (ABS) as standard. Moreover, the Renault Fluence in India will come with four airbags as standard which include driver and front co-passenger airbags as well as front side airbags.
The Renault Fluence will be priced aggressively and expect its pricing to be in the region of Rs 12-Rs 14 lakh ex-showroom considering both petrol and diesel versions.
