Renault has previewed a new autonomous electric concept called the Symbioz in a new teaser video. The French carmaker will reveal the concept car at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show on 12 September. The Symbioz will showcase Renault’s vision of a 2030 car equipped with autonomy, electric drive and connectivity.
Renault says that the name Symbioz is derived from ‘sumbiosis’, the Ancient Greek word for ‘living together’. The letter ‘Z’ at the end of the name refers to Renault’s all-electric Z.E. technology which powers the concept vehicle. A glimpse at the rotating concept car reveals a sporty hatchback. A large futuristic wheel design is present with an unusual door line. It is suspected to have a rear-hinged door set-up. The Trezor Concept cues are evident as well. The roof appears to be made up of transparent material.
According to Renault, the Symbioz concept caters to the future expectations of the customers pertaining to mobility and lifestyle. The Boulogne-based carmaker claims that it comes prepared for “the environmental and urban challenges that lie ahead”. The Symbioz concept is also a way for Renault to explore autonomous, electric, connected mobility in the future.
Renault will showcase the concept car on the Frankfurt stage alongside the all-new Megane RS. So, stay tuned to CarWale for the exclusive coverage from the German auto show.
