Reports state that Sumit Sawhney, MD and CEO of Renault India, has said that the company is working towards expediting the deliveries for its hatchback, the Kwid.
The French car maker has reiterated that the Kwid’s production is in full force. In a bid to reduce the waiting time for its popular hatchback, arrangements have also been made to introduce a third shift at the Oragadam factory. This will facilitate to expedite the production process and accelerate deliveries. Renault admitted that the company is currently sitting on 59,000 bookings for the Kwid. And they added that the waiting period presently hovers around 3-4 months.
With the current strategy, Renault hopes to meet the demand for its hatchback quicker, and also help it meet the monthly production target of 10,000 units hereon. With plans to increase dealer network from the present 210 outlets to 270 by the end of this year, Renault believes they are on track with their volumes growth.
