At the 2014 Auto Expo held in February, Renault India launched the Duster Adventure Edition. Available in metallic amazon green shade and boasting of a few unique features, the special edition model of the compact SUV was offered only in the top-spec 109bhp variant, until now.
According to Indian Autos Blog, Renault India is now offering the Adventure Edition with the lower-spec 85 PS version, for Rs 9.16 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Like the 109bhp version, the lower-spec model also comes with the same set of visual enhancements to give the Duster a more rugged appearance. The front-end, for instance, gets blackened headlights and a new bumper guard with integrated fog lamps. Other additions include plastic cladding on the sides, wing mirrors and door handles finished in white and gun metal grey alloy wheels.
Since Renault has concentrated mainly on upgrading the car cosmetically, the Duster 85PS Adventure Edition gets the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that powers the regular 85 PS RxE model. Producing 84bhp of power and 200Nm of torque, the engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox which sends power to the front wheels. With a reported price of Rs 9.16 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the Adventure Edition commands a premium of around Rs 55,000 over the regular 85 PS RxE model of the Duster.
Despite the ‘Adventure’ tag, Renault isn’t offering all-wheel drive technology with the Duster yet. Enthusiasts, however, needn’t worry because Renault is expected to launch a 4x4 version of the Duster before the end of this year.
