Renault has emerged as the latest one to announce passing GST benefits to customers in India. The car manufacturer has announced that customers will receive benefits of up to 7 per cent. The new price will vary on the basis of state, model and the variant opted by a customer. The new prices have also been revised on the basis of tax rates which have been applicable prior to GST.
Renault India has reduced for Kwid Climber AMT between ₹ 5,200 to ₹ 29,500, Duster RXZ AWD between ₹ 30,400 to ₹ 1, 04,700 and the Lodgy Stepway RXZ (7S) has been reduced between ₹ 25,700 to ₹ 88,600. Speaking about the price revision, Sumit Sawhney, CEO and Managing Director, Renault India 0perations said, “The roll out of the Goods and Services Tax from July 1, is one of the biggest achievements of the Government, facilitating a ‘one nation-one tax’ system, aimed at fostering a congenial business environment. While there may be a short-term disruption as the whole system adapts to this economic transformation, but in the long term it will be very positive for the economy and corporate India. Reflecting our customer-first approach, we have decided to pass on GST benefits to our customers, further enhancing the value proposition of our products.”
Moving forward, Renault plans to increase its network reach to 320 outlets pan-India by the end of 2017 to make its products and services more accessible to the customers across the country.
