Renault India revealed the upcoming Lodgy MPV for the first time in India. The manufacturer had released an image of the vehicle earlier, but never showcased it until recently, at the Renault Star Guild Awards show.
The MPV that was exhibited at the show is the Stepway variant which was also showcased at the Paris Motor show. The vehicle gets special 'Stepway' badging on the doors, skid protectors and sports a side body cladding. We can expect a chrome embellished grille on the India-spec model and features like a touch-screen infotainment system, from the Duster which is already on sale in India.
Though Renault India has not given out any specifications yet, we can expect the Logdy to be powered by the 1.5-litre four-cylinder K9K diesel engine. This mill will come mated to a five-speed or six-speed manual gearbox.
Renault India has confirmed an early 2015 launch for the Lodgy and we expect it to be introduced in March. It will be manufactured at the Renault-Nissan's facility in Oragadam, Chennai, like the Duster. The Lodgy might be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh and will go up against the Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and the Nissan Evalia.
