The Renault Lodgy has been spotted testing outside Chennai ahead of its Indian debut later this year. The company had announced last month that it was bringing the MPV to the Indian market and had even released an image of the vehicle.
The car in the pictures show that the India- spec car will be almost similar to its international sibling in the top- spec variants but will have minor changes in the lower- spec variants like a full black grille and wheel covers in place of a chrome- laced unit and alloy wheels respectively .
We expect that the India-spec Lodgy will share a lot of its interior with the Duster more so the AWD model which introduced a revised design for the crossover. On the engine front, it is expected to be offered only with the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine which produces 85bhp and 200Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a five-speed manual.
We expect that they will price it in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. It will compete with the Mahindra Xylo, Chevrolet Tavera, Nissan Evalia and the Toyota Innova.
