The Renault brand in India has been witnessing a positive growth trend in the Indian market. Reports for June indicate that the company witnessed an impressive 173 per cent growth with domestic sales of 11,837 units as against 4,340 units sold in June last year. Whereas, the cumulative sales for the period between January-June stood at 61,895 units as against 23,346 units in the corresponding period last year, thereby registering a growth of 165 per cent.
Renault sells seven models in India - the Kwid, Duster, Lodgy, Scala, Pulse, Fluence and the premium SUV Koleos in India. However, among the list, only the Kwid and Duster have been popular choices in their respective segment. Renault’s entry-level car Kwid, has been a major contributor to the brand’s success in India. Supporting claims, of the total 11,837 units sold in June, 9,459 units were from theKwid alone. The entry-level hatchback has also done well in May with 5,600 units sold.Moreover, in less than a year, Renault reportedly sold about 1.5-lakh Kwid units.
Renault Kwid being a popular seller, has never attracted any special offers, yet has found many takers in the country. The reason being that along with a lucrative price tag, the Kwid also offers impressive features like touch screen infotainment system on the top-end variant. Moreover, impressive fuel efficiency figures and a bold SUV stance from an entry-level vehicle have helped Renault to offer a complete package deal,which lures the price conscious Indian buyers.
