Renault has announced a ‘four-years or up to one lakh kilometres (whichever is earlier) along with roadside assistance on their entry-level hatchback, the Kwid. The segment first warranty scheme from Renault is offered as a standard warranty of two years/50,000 kilometres and an extended warranty of two years/50,000 kilometres.
Apart from that, the French carmaker has also revamped the Renault Secure programme wherein customers can extend the warranty coverage up to five years or one lakh kilometres (whichever is earlier) across the Renault range. Renault India also offers other after-sales services such as Renault Secure, Renault Assist, Workshop on Wheels (WoW), Passion on Wheels (PoW), customer apps and customer service camps. The roadside assistance service will be available across the country except in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, J&K, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
Compared to its rivals, the Maruti Suzuki Alto is offered with two years/40,000 kilometres with an extended warranty of up to three years and one lakh kilometres. The Datsun Redigo, on the other hand, gets a standard two years/unlimited kilometre warranty extendable up to 2-3 years/unlimited kilometre.
Available in a price range of Rs 2.78 – 4.7 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Kwid has been a runaway success for Renault in India. It is offered in 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre petrol engine options. The former generates 53bhp and 42Nm while the latter 67bhp and 91Nm. The five-speed manual is standard but the 1.0-litre is also available with five-speed AMT.
