-Mid-life update
-New face
A facelifted version of the Renault Kwid has been spotted on test in India once again but this time sans some of the front camouflage revealing the face of the car. As expected, it sports the appearance of the K-ZE which is essentially a Kwid EV for the Chinese market.
The new face reveals a lower positioning for the headlamps, revised bumpers and possible LED DRLs where the headlamps are traditionally placed. However, unlike the K-ZE’s U-shaped grille, this India-spec model will sport the regular Renault two-slat grille minus the chrome.
This will be the most comprehensive update for the Kwid since its launch in 2015 and will also see it get a revised feature list as a part of the deal. However, while the appearance is expected to change, the mechanicals will remain untouched and the car will continue with the 800cc and 1.0-litre three-cylinder units.
This updated Kwid is expected to be unveiled this year with a possible launch too. The Kwid competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 as well as the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso.
