-Mid-life update for the compact hatchback
- New front and rear end
-Possible update to feature list
- Likely to remain the same mechanically
A mid-life update for the Renault Kwid was spotted testing in Europe. Launched in 2015, the Kwid is Renault’s entry-level product and is mainly sold in markets like India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and across various countries in South America.
In the photos, we can see that this mid-life update will comprise new front and rear bumpers. This minor change will ensure that the look of the car is refreshed enough to keep it in line with the competition. We also expect that Renault will add some updates to the interiors especially for the Indian car market where ABS with EBD and dual front airbags will become standard from April 2019.
There are expected to be no mechanical changes to the car and it will continue with the 800cc and 1.0-litre petrol engines. A five-speed manual is standard but the latter also gets a five-speed AMT or as Renault puts it Easy-R technology.
The car that has been spotted is a LHD model and our spy sources suggest that Renault might be preparing to bring the SUV(ized) hatchback to the old continent as their new entry-level offering. It’s possible that this car could be branded as a Dacia for certain markets.
