Renault’s entry level car, the Kwid has been a major contributor in the company’s overall sales number. Renault India claims that they have crossed a new milestone for the Kwid with over 1,75,000 units sales till date.
Speaking on the impressive sales milestone, Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said, “Renault KWID has proved its mettle in the fiercely competitive mini hatchback segment in India. The Kwid is available in 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre petrol engine options. The 799cc petrol engine generates 53bhp of power at 5678rpm and 42Nm of torque at 4386rpm. The smaller engine gets five-speed manual as standard. The bigger 999cc engine produces 67bhp of power at 5500rpm and 91Nm of torque at 4250rpm. The bigger engine variant is available in five-speed manual and optional five-speed AMT transmission.
Renault India is also passing on the GST benefits to its customers. Depending on the state, model and the Kwid variant being purchased, total savings range between Rs 5,200 – Rs 29,500. Currently, the Kwid range in Delhi starts at Rs 2.62 Lakh.
