Renault recently took the wraps off two concept cars based on the Kwid hatchback. They have been named the Kwid Climber and the Kwid Racer. They have been designed to demonstrate the various modifications and accessories that can be fitted to the Kwid.
The Kwid Climber is a take on the little hatchback with an orientation of making it an off road vehicle. It gets chunky pattern tyres, body protection elements like a pseudo bull bar element.
Inside, it has the standard Kwid’s cabin but with orange accents and a white coloured dashboard. It gets the touchscreen infotainment system, power windows and orange door handles to match the exterior.
The Kwid racer on the other hand is a concept car designed to be at home on track burning rubber as it metes out the laps. It has been painted in the same colour scheme as the original Renault Alpine race car.
The cabin is the standard Kwid design but trimmed out in alacantera. It has been fitted with racing buckets seats that have four-point harness. The back seats have been replaced by a roll cage!
Renault has not released any details about the cars but we believe that they will make use of the 1.0-litre engine but tuned to produce a much higher output. Expect some suspension modifications and probably a stiffer ride.
