Renault has secured over 25,000 bookings for the Kwid. The company will commence deliveries of the entry-level hatchback across India next week, ahead of the festive season.
The French carmaker has received the said number of bookings in less than two weeks, which is remarkable considering the fact that Renault has limited dealer network. The company claims that they have received record number of footfall across the showrooms in India. Renault will continue to expand its presence by increasing the number of dealerships to 205 by the end of this year.
Commenting on the update, Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said, “The Renault KWID has created a huge excitement since its launch and we are thrilled with the response it has received just at the on-set of the festive season. The Indian consumer has shown tremendous confidence and trust in Renault brand, the initial response has been very exhilarating and the bookings are constantly increasing. We are witnessing remarkable footfalls in dealerships across all regions since the launch of Renault KWID. The innovative Virtual Showroom and the Renault KWID app have received a tremendous response across India.”
The Kwid competes with the Maruti Alto 800 and the 800cc Eon in the entry-level segment. The SUVish looks and large dimensions have been the major contributors in the success, along with the competitive pricing.
