Renault has come up with yet more impressive sales numbers. Back in July, Renault India claimed to have sold 11,968 units as compared to the 1,686 units sold in the same period last year, thereby witnessing a massive growth of 609.8 per cent. The company has witness 195 per cent sales growth for the period between January to July this year with 73,863 units sold as against 25,032 units sold in the same period last year.
Renault’s massive growth in sales this year can be attributed to the success of its entry-level product Kwid and the new Duster which was recently launched in the country. From its current dealership strength of over 215 points, the company plans to reach over 270 facilities by the end of this year. This will help the brand further strengthen its presence in the Indian market. To further boost company’s sales numbers, the automaker introduced the Lodgy World Edition last month.
The Renault Lodgy World Edition continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre dCi (Common Rail Direct Injection) engine in two tunes – 108bhp and 84bhp. The lesser powerful variant is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and returns a fuel efficiency figure of 21.04kmpl, while the powerful variant gets a six-speed manual transmission which returns a fuel efficiency figure of 19.98kmpl. Offered as a special edition, the MPV gets chrome finish centre trim on dashboard, classic Gris Fume monotone door trim, new anodized orange finish on air vents, new seat fabric upholstery with anodized orange accents and glossy black foam steering wheel with two-toned World Edition badge.
