Renault had its entire portfolio line-up at their stall at the 2018 Auto Expo. However, the centre of attention was the gorgeous all-electric Grand Tourer concept car – the Trezor. Sharing the stage with the flamboyant concept was the design study made by Renault India’s design team under the Design Academy India programme. Then there was the Zoe e-Sport Concept gracing the stage as well.
The Trezor was first showcased at the 2016 Paris Motor Show as a preview to the new design language by the French carmaker. The Trezor Concept won many laurels at many international stages as the “Best Concept Car”. The unique doors and the low-slung body are finished in minimalistic yet stylish panels. As Renault says, the Trezor is a part of the Love 'petal' of Renault's 'Life Flower' design strategy. It follows the footsteps of the 2010 DeZir concept and previews the design language likely to be seen in future Renault models.
Renault also presented previous year’s Formula One racing car, called the R.S.17. Meanwhile Zoe e-Sport Concept in its racing blue colour and massive aero work sat on the opposite end of the pavilion. The Zoe e-Sport has a carbon fibre body work with a 0-100kmph time of 3.2 seconds since it only weighs 1.4 tonne which includes a battery weighing 450 kilograms. Renault’s design corner had four scale models and one full-scale model designed by four candidates selected by the Design Academy India for which more than 400 applications were received online.
The Renault Kwid Superhero edition which was launched a few days back was also showcased at the Expo stall. Joining it was Renault’s entire Indian portfolio. The cars included the new Captur, Duster and the Lodgy.
