Renault India has hiked the prices of their most successful model, the Duster, by Rs 30,000 for petrol variants and Rs 40,000 for diesel. The new prices will be effective across the country starting this Monday, 1 October.
The company confirms that the hike is due to rising input costs, inflationary pressures and high freight rates due to increase in diesel prices. Renault is not the first company to hike prices starting October – Maruti Suzuki, Honda, General Motors and Audi have also recently announced similar measures to combat rising costs. Expect few other car makers to hike prices in the next couple of weeks.
