Looking at the increase in demand of petrol automatics, Renault India recently launched the Duster powered by a petrol mill and mated to a CVT automatic transmission. This is the RxS trim launched at an introductory price of Rs 10.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the first petrol automatic version of the Duster introduced by the French carmaker. Take a look at the pictures of this 'Xtronic' CVT version.
This Duster RxS CVT is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that churns out 104bhp of power and 142Nm of torque. This replaces the older 1.6-litre petrol motor.
This new petrol mill comes mated to a CVT gearbox with a six-speed manual option. Company-claimed fuel efficiency figures are at 14.99kmpl.
The exterior sports a few cosmetic revisions including a black front grille, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, black cladding with X-tronic badge and rear wiper with defogger.
This petrol automatic variant will be available only in the RxS trim, which sits one level below the range-topping RxZ variant.
The interior is similar to the RxL variant and the RxS continues to get the fabric seat option as against the leather in the RxZ trim.
Renault India has equipped this automatic variant with a seven-inch touch screen audio system with audio, video but without navigation.
In terms of safety, the new variant will get dual airbags and ABS as standard fitment. However, it misses out on the traction control system as seen on the diesel AMT automatic version.
The petrol automatic is offered in seven colour options - fiery red, pearl white, moonlight silver, outback bronze, woodland brown, slate grey and cayenne orange.
