A facelifted version of the Renault Duster com will go into production next month. It will be the second new model in 2016 after the redi-GO (codenamed I2) to be produced at the Renault Nissan’s plant outside Chennai.
We expect that the facelifted version will get all the cosmetic updates of the current global model. This includes a new grille, revised graphics and redesigned double barrel headlamps. However, the bit we are interested most in is that this facelifted version is expected to be offered with an AMT (automated manual transmission). It has been spotted on test on multiple occasions already confirming that the automaker is looking to introduce an automatic option.
The Franco-Japanese alliance had launched the Renault Duster in July 2012 and then Nissan launched a rebadged version, the Terrano, in October 2013. The former underwent its facelift last year where it got a completely revised interior as well as an AWD variant. The interior revision is in line with the global model which got an update in mid-2013.
When launched the facelifted Duster will compete with the Hyundai Creta as well as some other offerings in the C-segment.
