Renault has announced that it will hike the price of all diesel variants of the Duster SUV. The price hike will be in the range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 depending on the model. This is second price hike for the compact SUV since it was launched in July 2012, although the first hike was expected to happen due to the Duster being launched with an introductory price. However, the company has not specified when the hike will come into effect.
Despite the first price hike, the Duster still has a significantly long waiting period and is the best-selling model (4485 units in December 2012) for the French automaker since it entered the Indian market in May 2011. However, prices for the petrol variants of the Duster will remain unchanged due to low demand for such vehicles.
