At the Johannesburg International Motor Show on Wednesday all eyes were on the concept of the Renault Duster Detour, the teaser of which was released a week ago. The concept is based on the recently facelifted Dacia/Renault Duster budget off-roader.
Designed in cooperation with a specialised South African design studio based in Johannesburg, the teaser had earlier revealed the two-tone pearl yellow and matte grey exterior paint, which Renault says is the result of mixing 'a little Mad Max with a touch of the Terminator' and 'some Dakar dust'n dirt.
Noticebale features include the changed position of the fog lights, which have been moved right under the front grille. The Duster Detour sits on 18-inch black, all-terrain wheels with yellow highlights. At the rear, you get stylish LED tail lights and a diffuser. There is a roof spoiler on top and dual exhaust tips that round off the rear.
Coming to its features, it is the exciting colour combination which lends the Duster Detour a certain attitude of aggressiveness and is a major factor that helps to set it apart from the Renault Duster. Just going by the looks one can expect this one to stay off the roads only answering the call of the wild and the dirt trails.
It highly doubtful that we might see it in production, at best it could be a limited edition. But then Duster lovers, you can always take a hint and see how you can make your Duster more adventurous.
