Renault India recently launched the Duster facelift at Rs 8.47 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The car was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo and Renault says it has brought in a total of 32 new styling and technical changes. We recently got up close with the vehicle to show you these changes in the form of pictures. Have a look at the detailed gallery.
The Renault Duster Facelift is a mid-life refresh and not a completely new vehicle. The French carmaker has given the car cosmetic changes to enhance the look of the car.
The 2016 iteration of the Duster measures 4,315mm in length, 1,822mm in width and 1,695mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,673mm long with a ground clearance of 205mm.
The fascia of the Duster gets a new headlamp design, revised chrome grille with honeycomb mesh pattern and revised bumpers with silver skid plates.
The most prominent exterior design change is the headlamp design. Even if there are no DRLs or projectors, the chrome detailing in this cluster is tastefully done.
In line with the changes in the front, the changes at the back include revised tail lamps. This tail lamp unit gets LED inserts that add to the appeal.
Even if the silhouette is the same as the previous version, the revamped Duster sports new 16-inch alloy wheels. These alloys get a different pattern with gunmetal finish.
The design of the roof rails has also changed, which the French carmaker is calling as the Kayak roof rails. These look trendier than the earlier version.
There are changes inside the cabin as well to stay on par with the competitors. The embellishments in red on the dashboard,AC vents and door panels give the interior a sporty look.
The automatic variant of the Duster comes equipped with the EASY-R AMT six-speed transmission instead of the dual-clutch auto.
Renault India is offering a new colour option as seen in these images. This cayenne orange colour comes in addition to the standard colours offered earlier.
The Duster is a highly appreciated utility vehicle, but the advent of many new SUVs slowly saw the car's sales numbers decrease. Let's hope these changes will provoke consumer interest into the vehicle again.
The Duster facelift will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra Scorpio.
