The electric version of the Renault Kwid, called the City K-ZE has been launched in China. It is believed that the upcoming Kwid facelift will also get similar design updates. The City K-ZE gets a 26.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack that produces 44bhp and 125Nm of torque. Moreover, the City K-ZE is based on the same CMF-A platform as the Kwid and is reportedly capable of attaining a top speed of 105kmph.Â
Based on what can be seen, the India-bound Kwid facelift is expected to get split headlamps with LED DRLs which are connected by a flowing grille. The rear gets revised LED taillamp units and a new bumper. As for the interior, the upcoming model is expected to get an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a new digital instrument cluster.Â
Renault has no immediate plans to introduce the electric version of the Kwid in India. It is believed that the upcoming Kwid facelift will continue to be powered by the existing engine, but will come with a BS-VI update at the time of launch. The new model is expected to get five-speed manual transmission as standard along with an optional AMT.
