Renault has finally launched the much awaited Captur crossover SUV in India at an introductory starting price of Rs 9.99 lakhs. The Captur is available in four variants – RXE, RXL, RXT and Platine. The vehicle is available in five single-tone and seven dual-tone colour options. The Captur is available in 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission that generates 104bhp of power and 142Nm of torque, while the diesel version comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission which generates 108bhp of power and 240Nm of torque. The Captur is limited to a manual transmission and it does not get an AWD option for now.

Captur RXE
The Captur being a premium product offering from Renault, gets loads of interesting features right from the base level. The crossover SUV gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs, automatic climate control, electric adjustable ORVMs, rear AC vents and rear seat armrest with cup holders. The base variant also offers power windows with illuminated switches, driver’s side auto up/down, push button start, boot lamp, steering mounted audio controls, driver seat height adjust and 2 DIN audio system with USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity, and front and rear speakers. The RXE variant also features a roof spoiler, fabric seat upholstery, cup holders and 12V power socket in the front. The base variant gets 16-inch steel wheels with full wheel cap.
As for safety, the Captur gets standard eqipments like impact-sensing door unlock, speed-sensitive door auto lock, ABS with EBD and brake assist, rear defogger, dual front airbags, height adjustable seat belts and Isofix child seat mounts at the rear. The RXE petrol is priced at Rs 9.99 lakhs, while the diesel version is priced at Rs 11.39 lakhs.
Captur RXL
Moving one step ahead, the Captur RXL in addition to all the features from the RXE offers cruise control with speed limiter, Eco driving mode (only in diesel), 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB, Aux-in, Bluetooth, smartphone voice recognition (iOS only) and front and rear speakers with two tweeters. The RXL variant also features a gear shift indicator, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear parcel shelf and rear parking sensors. The petrol version is priced at Rs 11.07 lakhs, while the diesel version is priced at Rs 12.47 lakhs.
Captur RXT
The Captur RXT is the top-spec version in petrol, while in diesel it stands as second to top. In addition to all the features from the lower variants, the RXT additionally offers electric adjustable and power folding ORVMs, front seat back pockets, 12V power socket in front and back, cooled and illuminated glove box, follow-me-home headlamps and 17-inch alloy wheels. This particular variant also features leather wrapped steering wheels, LED front fog lamps, keyless entry, reversing camera, automatic wipers and automatic headlamps. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 11.69 lakhs, while the diesel version is priced at Rs 13.09 lakhs. The Captur RXT is also available in dual colour option at an additional cost of Rs 17,000.
Captur Platine
The Platine variant is available exclusively with a diesel engine option. In addition to all the features from the RXT variant, the Platine variant additionally gets leather front-centre arm rest, leather seat upholstery and steering and gear knob. The vehicle gets LED headlamps, LED front fog lamps with cornering function, side airbags, electronic stability control and hill start assist. The diesel version is priced at Rs 13.88 lakhs. The dual tone variant is available at an additional price of Rs 17,000.
