The Renault Captur is set to arrive in India later this year and the bookings for the French automaker’s crossover have already started. There’s a diesel which we have already driven and you can find the review here or by locating it in the reviews section of our mobile app. However, the bit we are interested in is that there will be a petrol for the crossover and it’s expected to be the 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit.
It’s showed up on the booking site and we believe that it will be the 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit found in the Duster petrol AT. The engine produces 105bhp/142Nm and is mated to a CVT. In the Duster it is also offered with a manual gearbox but considering the premium positioning of the Captur we believe that it will only be offered in the AT guise.
Given that there is a higher demand for the diesel models, it seems likely that Renault might offer the petrol powered Captur in the fully loaded Platine variant as well as one lower spec model.
