Renault Captur now complies with the safety regulations set by the Indian authorities by introducing new safety features. The updated Renault Captur is now available at a starting price of Rs 9.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and can be had in the RXE and Platine dual tone variants. The updated standard safety features now include dual airbags, antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD), rear parking sensor, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder and speed alert.
The company claims that the Captur is certified to exceed frontal, lateral and pedestrian safety which are stipulated by the Indian authorities. Moreover, in addition to the new safety features, the Captur also offers height adjustable seat-belts, lateral ISOFIX – child seat anchor, rear defogger, rear wiper and washer and speed sensing auto door lock. Changes are limited to new feature upgrades while mechanically it continues to be powered by the four-cylinder 1.5L H4K petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox to produce 106ps at 5,600rpm and 142Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The diesel version, on the other hand, gets a 1.5L K9K engine mated to a six-speed manual to generate 110PS at 3,850 rpm and peak torque of 240Nm at 1,750rpm.
The Captur comes with 50 premium features which are offered standard. The Platine features ultra-premium black and ivory interiors with contrast accents and black leatherette seats. The vehicle gets ErgoDesign seats which are six-way adjustable and offer ample legroom in both the front and back rows. '
