Refreshed Porsche Macan spotted testing

Porsche is out testing the refreshed Macan crossover. The SUV was introduced in 2014 and is the highest selling car in Porsche’s line-up. However, after the advent of its rivals like the new Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, Porsche is preparing a refreshed Macan already. The car has been caught testing near Porsche’s test facility in northern Europe.

With the highly camouflaged rear, the new Macan seems to get a new larger taillight design. Under the concealment of the rear tailgate, the Macan appears to integrate a strip of LED running across the rear as seen on the all-new 911 spy shots.  This might become a characteristic motif on all future Porsches. The headlights seem to incorporate the four-point LED daytime running lights like the one in the new Porsche Panamera. The front air vents are revised, the indicators are repositioned, restyled rear diffuser as well as reworked front and rear bumpers.

Porsche would take this opportunity to declutter the interior of the Macan and borrow some of the elements from the new Panamera. So expect the next-gen touch-sensitive displays and latest assistance and safety systems in the baby SUV.

As with the powertrains, the Macan will continue to use the current set of engines but is expected to come with a plug-in hybrid powertrain in the near future. The refreshed Macan is expected to be launched sometime in 2018.
