We may have just got our hands on the Range Rover Velar but it looks like the British automaker already wants to raise the stakes with this, which is an SVR version of the Range Rover Velar. As most afficandos of the double R know, the SVR stands for Special Vehicles Racing which when put to even the most un-car person will solicit an answer- super fast SUV!
From the pictures you can see that this version of the Velar will get the SVR spec grille and wheels. Since the car is already a coupe SUV, this SVR makeover will just add to its sporty image. Changes are going to be made to some of the interior SVR specs like the seats, upholstery and obviously, badging in various places around the car.
Putting the racing in Special Vehicles Racing will be JLR’s tried and tested supercharged V8 mill which, in the case of this Velar SVR, is expected to produce 550bhp/638Nm with a rear-biased AWD system and eight-speed gearbox.
There’s probably going to be a European launch for this car before it goes to America and then comes to countries like ours. We also expect that Land Rover will try to set some kind of lap record, probably on a massive German racetrack, to build upon the sporty image of the Velar SVR.
