Land Rover has expanded the Range Rover Velar range with addition of a new Ingenium petrol engine. Badged P300, this engine is rated at 300 horsepower.
The P300 is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine from the Ingenium range. It delivers 296bhp and 400Nm of torque, and is mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. It gets an all-wheel drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics system. This engine can propel the Velar from a standstill to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds. The engine is produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s engine manufacturing centre in Wolverhampton, UK.
Apart from the P300, the Velar is available with six petrol and diesel powertrains, with outputs ranging from 250 horsepower to 380 horsepower. Land Rover is planning to bring the Velar to India in November. Positioned between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, the Velar will be sold as a completely built unit (CBU). It will compete against the Porsche Macan and the Jaguar F-Pace,
