Land Rover has disclosed two new variants of the Range Rover Evoque- the Autobiography and the Autobiography Dynamic. These will premiere at the Geneva Motor Show scheduled to take place in March.
The first variant, the Autobiography, is said to be the most luxurious version of the Evoque. The vehicle adorns a refreshed grille, a new bumper, headlamps and tail lamps. It stands tall on 20-inch alloy wheels and has an Autobiography badging. Most of the features are expected to be similar to the outgoing Evoque model. However, this trim will be made available with leather upholstery with options for a customer to choose from six colours.
The Autobiography is available in both petrol as well as diesel variants. The diesel model is powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder mill that churns out 190bhp. The petrol version is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces 240bhp of power. Both these variants are all-wheel-drive with the engine mated to the ZF nine-speed automatic gear-box.
Apart from the standard colours available for the cars, a new colour ‘Phoenix Orange’ has been added. The company claims that the other version, the Autobiography Dynamic, is the most powerful Evoque ever made. This car is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine the outgoing model is equipped with. However, the company has tuned this mill to produce 285bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. This is about 45bhp and 60Nm more than the standard engine. There is an optimisation of the conventional nine-speed gear-box for sportier gear changes.
The other changes made to improve the performance and handling comprise of larger 350mm front disc brakes instead of the normal 300mm ones. The new vehicle sports a reworked steering setup and upgraded suspension with firmer springs and dampers.
These 2015 variants are expected to go on sale in October this year and will be available in coupe or five-door bodystyles.
