Land Rover has added a petrol derivative of the Range Rover Evoque to their line-up in India. Till now only diesel models were on sale, now joined by this petrol SE trim priced at Rs 53.2 lakh.
The new Land Rover Ranger Rover Evoque came in only one engine option, which is the 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel motor. This will now be joined by the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine churning out 237bhp of power and 340Nm of torque. Transmission option continues to be the nine-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, said, "We are excited to introduce the 2017 Model Year New Range Rover Evoque with a 2.0-litre petrol derivative. The addition of the 2.0-litre petrol derivative reinforces our commitment towards customers who aspire to drive this fabulous vehicle with a powerful petrol engine.”
The exterior and interior features continue to be the same as the SE model of the diesel variant. For now, only this SE variant is on sale and Land Rover might introduce the other variants for the petrol as well. This includes the 2.0-litre Pure, SE, SE Dynamic, HSE and HSE Dynamic diesel versions. All of these models are locally manufactured at the carmaker's plant at Pune.
