Land Rover officially unveiled the Range Rover Evoque convertible recently. It was shot underground in London and now the carmaker has put the car on test at the Nurburgring.
The debut of the Evoque convertible took place at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show as a concept. The concept version boasted of a powered soft-top roof with a glass rear screen tucked under a plastic cover located behind the rear seats. The production model is expected to carry the same arrangement, which also means that with the soft-top arrangement, the Evoque convertible will be heavier than the three-door vehicle.
From the test mule it is evident that the front spoiler is bigger and more sculpted. Similar to the first-gen Audi TT Roadster, the Evoque convertible also gets a spoiler at the back.
Land Rover will put the car on sale in 2016 after its production starts at Land Rover’s Halewood plant in the UK. It will be accompanied by the five-door and three-door Evoque at the production facility.
